Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Poole
Pay Rate: £ - £ per hour (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full Time/Part Time

Are you a caring and patient individual passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Poole area. As a 1:1 TA, this role involves providing personalised support to a pupil with special educational needs (SEN), helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to meet the specific needs of the pupil.
Assist with classroom tasks and adapt learning materials to support understanding.
Encourage positive behaviour and build the pupil’s confidence and independence.
Monitor progress and work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
Support the pupil in managing emotional or behavioural challenges effectively.

Requirements for 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting.
Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to adapt and provide flexible support based on the pupil’s needs.
A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
