Our client is a top-tier advisory business that works with most top-tier investment banks and several tier 2 and 3 houses. We are looking for a Senior Manager to join this group.
They are a team that has a reputation for developing consultants in terms of their capability, people management and ability to pitch and win new business. This would suit someone who is looking for a step up in terms of the quality of people and project and/or looking for career development. Have you thought about your leadership style? What area of expertise are you looking to grow, and how? Our client takes a very human-focused approach to helping train and coach its consultants to be well-rounded leaders.
The focus of this team is front office change and transformation. In recent years, this team has been at the forefront of risk and control frameworks, booking models, Brexit strategy, trade venue strategy, Libor transition strategy and implementation, Consent Order advice and broader front to back change projects with a front-office driver.
We are looking for people who are career-minded and who want to invest in themselves towards higher levels of management with a 2-5 year horizon. The following backgrounds are of interest:
1. 6-10 years of experience at a top tier consulting firm
2. 'Change' or 'project-based' skills from a leading investment bank
Then:
- Good risk and controls/framework understanding; projects currently include defining risk control frameworks of the future, controls data /regulatory mapping and some legacy controls remediation though most of the forward book is 'advisory/strategic' work
- Understanding of how a large bank, such as a JPM, works and functions, its products and services broadly
3. Solid understanding of areas of regulation in an investment banking setting
4. Ideally an overview of the banking regulatory agenda; what keeps a CRO/COO up at night?
5. Front to Back knowledge and understanding of investment banking functions and trade flows
6. Projects where you have taken a lead and really made a difference
7. Senior stakeholder influence and management; where have you helped change someone's mind and guided them through complexity?
8. Experience of working regulatory with front office stakeholders and an understanding of the 'pulse' of the front office in driving projects
