Retail Account Manager

The Role
Reporting to both the General Manager and Head of Sales, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of key retail and foodservice accounts across the UK, France, Germany, and the wider EU.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll lead the full commercial relationship, from identifying new opportunities and managing tenders, through to launching new products and delivering long-term growth.
You’ll work closely with internal teams across R&D, technical, manufacturing, and logistics to bring customer briefs to life, ensuring each stage of the project is delivered to a high standard and on time.
Alongside managing existing UK accounts, you’ll focus on developing new business in European markets, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and shaping strategies that align with both commercial targets and market trends.
You’ll also represent the business at key trade shows, customer meetings, and networking events, using your market insight to influence future product and category direction.
We’re looking for a commercially focused Account Manager or Business Development professional with a proven track record in the food industry, ideally with experience in chilled or frozen ready meals, or other high-value products.
With at least 10 years’ experience under your belt, you’ll be confident managing retail relationships (UK and EU), negotiating commercial terms, and driving projects from brief to launch.
Fluency in English is essential and while French or another European language would be beneficial, it’s not a requirement. You’ll need to be a strong communicator with excellent project management skills, capable of working independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
Regular travel across Europe and occasional visits to Asia will be part of the role.
