With a regional turnover of c.£700m, the business is highly profitable and continues to focus on growth.This role has a varied scope and you will be an active partner in championing financial and business discipline. Delivering the right information, at the right time, to the right people, so they can make the right business decisions, is the key concept to this team – all with a profit-centric mindset.You will interact across multiple departments and seniority levels, so excellent interpersonal skills and gravitas are important. A pro-active and naturally inquisitive nature, the ability to work independently to support business needs, and a keen eye for detail and data integrity are vital. You must be comfortable with large volumes of complex data across multiple systems and be able to summarise coherently and accurately for a wide audience. The role includes modelling and reporting tasks, so you should be willing to work in detail, accurately and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesBusiness PartneringSupport Retail Director with project workload, approvals, ideas generation and general business advisory counsel.Be the finance representative for the retail field – attend meetings and weekly retail calls as the point person for queries and to encourage a profit-centric mindset.Collaborate with branch merch partners, logistics and retail ops on ad hoc projects.Deputise for the Commercial Finance Director when required.Lead ad hoc projects such as promotion analysis, disruption of trade impact and new initiative business cases.Retail reporting and P&L managementWeekly and monthly reporting, including KPI reporting, analysis and challenge, new store performance, and store portfolio packs.Track and analyse store performance metrics to support tactical and strategic decisions.Payroll management and liaising with retail teams to support accurate trading.Partner with Work Force Management (WFM) to align inputs into the payroll model and determine hours.Provide input on new store proformas and store renewals.Conduct pre- and post-analysis of initiatives and capex spend; manage bonus target setting and results.BudgetingPrepare Retail sales budgets including scenario modelling; liaise with senior stakeholders to agree on budgets and update as required.Own the Store payroll budget in collaboration with the WFM team.Own the capex budget for Retail, including all refreshes and retail ops requests.Participate in Long Range Planning (3-5 years) from a retail perspective, offering data-led insights on store openings and P&L levers.About youPost-qualification experience in commercial, FP&A, or business partnering finance, ideally in a Retail environment.Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic business.Confident communicator who can adapt communication styles to build strong working relationships.Ability to drive own workload, work autonomously and lead cross-functional work in a timely, considered manner aligned with business needs.Proactive and curious with a can-do attitude.This is a hybrid role requiring you to be in London three days a week.
