Are you an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SENTA) ready to make an immediate impact? About the Role
We require a committed SENTA to provide essential in-class support, both on a one-to-one basis and with small groups. The successful candidate will be a proactive, empathetic, and reliable professional with a strong track record in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support for Learning: Work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons across the curriculum.
- Individual & Group Work: Provide targeted support to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL), to help them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Classroom Management: Assist with preparing resources, organising the learning environment, and maintaining good order and pupil behaviour.
- Pastoral Care: Offer social and emotional support, promoting the inclusion and general well-being of all pupils.
- Administrative Tasks: Undertake routine administrative duties such as photocopying, mounting work, and recording pupil progress as directed by the teacher.
Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria to be considered for this urgent position:
- DBS: Possess an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one immediately).
- Experience: A minimum of 2/3 years of proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
- Immediate Availability: You must be ready to start work immediately or within one week of an offer.
- Qualifications: Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development, effective behaviour management strategies, and safeguarding procedures.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.
