SEN Teaching Assistant Wanted - Join Our Supportive Secondary School in Newham!

We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive secondary school in Newham, starting immediately.

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Start date: Immediate
Contract: Term-time only
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Location: Newham, East London

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support students with a range of special educational needs. You'll help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can achieve their potential - academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, speech & language, and learning difficulties)

Assist teachers with lesson preparation and differentiated learning activities

Help students engage in class and develop independence and confidence

Monitor and record progress, feeding back to teachers and the SENCO

Promote inclusion and positive behaviour throughout the school day

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or SEN setting

Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting students with additional needs

Has good communication and teamwork skills

Can remain calm, flexible, and positive under pressure

(A relevant qualification or experience in SEN is desirable but not essential)
