Veritas Education is working with a well-regarded one-form entry primary school in Stoke Newington that is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time role, ideally suited to someone with strong behavioural management skills and experience working with children who have additional and complex needs.

About the Role

1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural and emotional needs
Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
Supporting emotional regulation and engagement in class activities
Contributing to a consistent and structured environment for learning
Promoting positive behaviour and social developmentThis role is ideal for someone who is calm, consistent, and confident in de-escalation techniques, with a strong understanding of how to support children who present with challenging behaviours.

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience working with children with SEN, especially SEMH or behavioural needs
Strong behaviour management skills and a patient, resilient attitude
Comfortable working 1:1 with a pupil who may need close support throughout the school day
