Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade A - Newcastle) Location: Newcastle Hybrid working available – flexible work from home and in‑office collaboration. Join our leading clinical negligence team as a senior solicitor. You will manage complex cases from start to finish, provide proactive, commercially focused case management, and nurture relationships with clients, medical experts and stakeholders. Your experience will drive successful outcomes and shape the team’s success. Responsibilities
Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding customer service. Apply proactive, commercial case management and progression. Support the Team Leader in achieving financial performance KPIs. Maintain effective time recording. Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader. Identify cases ready for LOC, settlement and service. Ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable case progression. Coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties. Draft legal documentation including LOCs and letters of instruction. Negotiate settlement and issue proceedings as required. Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team. Advise team on technical issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Recent experience of handling a caseload. 8+ years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence. Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills. Strong drafting skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel. Attention to detail, commercial awareness and ability to mentor juniors. Flexible and results‑driven with a commitment to meeting deadlines. Excellent client‑care skills.
