OverviewSolicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade B - Newcastle) – Newcastle / Hybrid. Location: Newcastle/Hybrid. Hybrid working available – with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed. This role is within the Clinical Negligence team at Fletchers Group.ResponsibilitiesAccountable for running an individual caseload.Providing support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team.Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs.Effective and thorough time recording.Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.Identify and drive cases which are ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team.Coordinate progression of cases with all internal and external parties.Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction.Negotiate settlement and issue/service of proceedings as required; litigation of claims as needed.Oversee the documentation and correspondence produced by the team; advise on technical issues arising from cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department.Qualifications and skillsRecent experience of handling a caseload.5 years+ PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Excellent communication and drafting skills.Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel.Excellent attention to detail.Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment.Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring.Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.Excellent client care skills.In Return Fletchers Offers35 hours working weekBonus scheme (subject to targets being met)35 days holiday a year including bank holidays and Christmas closure; option to purchase up to 3 extra days per yearPension scheme with tax-efficient salary sacrifice optionLife Assurance PolicyMedicash policy for some dental, optical and other medical expensesCompany sick payEnhanced maternity, paternity and IVF schemesFlexible, agile working environment with a positive work-life balanceVaried calendar of funded company social eventsMonthly voucher awards for winning nomineesSupportive and friendly cultureOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesAbout Fletchers GroupFletchers is a fast-growing, dynamic law firm specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence law, with rankings in The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.
