OverviewAs the Analytics Manager in the Retail Transformation Analytics team at Sainsbury's, you will lead a high-calibre team of Analysts and develop solutions that automate decision-making across the business. Serving as the retail analytics subject matter expert, you will leverage Sainsbury's data assets to support the realisation of the Sainsbury's Next Level strategy. Through collaborative relationships with stakeholders, you will champion a data-driven approach to requirements gathering and analysis, ensuring high-quality, accurate outputs that uncover actionable insights within the data. Additionally, you will work closely with engineering teams to deploy solutions efficiently, uphold development standards, and advocate for good practises in analytics, ethics, governance, security, and assurance.As an Analytics Manager for Sainsbury's Retail Transformation Analytics team, you are a strategic and innovative leader with a passion for leveraging data insights to drive impactful solutions that support the business strategy. With a strong background in managing high-performing analytical teams and utilising core technologies such as Python, SQL, and GitHub, you excel in translating complex data into actionable insights and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Your inquisitive nature, coupled with your exceptional communication skills and ability to navigate ambiguity, enables you to champion analytics excellence, drive real change, and uphold the highest standards of data governance within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Essential CriteriaDemonstrable experience leading analytics teams, including coaching and upskilling team members through the full analytics lifecycle (scoping, research, development, deployment).Proven proficiency in core analytics technologies, specifically Python, SQL, and GitHub, with practical experience in developing and deploying analytics solutions.Ability to deliver impactful data storytelling, clearly articulating analytical insights to influence business decisions and drive measurable change.Track record of collaborating with engineering teams to deploy analytics solutions into technical systems for operational impact.Working knowledge of data governance principles, including ethics, security, and assurance, with evidence of applying these in a business context.This role will be closed early if we receive high volumes of applications.About the Team and OpportunityWe’re a business serving millions of customers a day, with the UK's largest loyalty scheme and an ever-evolving set of digital platforms.
