Overview
As an Assistant Manager at Boots Opticians you will lead and inspire your team to deliver an exemplary customer journey. You will work closely with the Store Manager to create and deliver the commercial plan to help the business grow and change for the better. Working across the whole store, you will be involved in customer service, store operations and the clinical activities which include patient pre-screening, dispensing, accuracy checks and more. You will manage a team with varying experience and clinical knowledge, providing opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and future careers. This also includes completing management tasks such as rotas, return to work reviews and performance management. We will support you through our Step into Optics training programme and leadership training to help you develop clinically and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team to deliver an exemplary customer journey.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and deliver the commercial plan to grow the business.
- Contribute to store operations and clinical activities (patient pre-screening, dispensing, accuracy checks, and related tasks).
- Manage a team with diverse experience and clinical knowledge, supporting development of knowledge, skills and careers.
- Complete management tasks such as creating and maintaining rotas, return to work reviews and performance management.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a customer facing role.
- Desire to learn.
- Led or coached a team.

- Experience working in a clinical environment.
