Assistant/Traffic Design Engineer

Our client, a reputable organisation within the Highways sector, is currently seeking a Assistant/Traffic Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is based in a South London Borough and focuses on the design and implementation of traffic schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing and drafting traffic schemes, including road markings, traffic signs, and signal layouts Producing detailed plans and technical drawings for various traffic management projects Conducting site assessments and surveys to gather necessary data for design Collaborating with engineers, planners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery Reviewing and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and guidelines Preparing reports and providing technical support to project teams Assisting in public consultations to gather community feedback on proposed traffic schemes Monitoring the implementation of traffic schemes to ensure adherence to designs
Job Requirements:
Experience in traffic engineering or a related technical field Strong knowledge of traffic scheme design principles and relevant software Proficiency in using AutoCAD or similar design tools Understanding of current Highways standards and regulations Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience If you are an experienced Assistant/Traffic Design Engineer looking to take on a new challenge in the Highways sector, we would love to hear from you.
