Harmonic are delighted to be working with an artist-centric SME in the Music Industry in their search for a Finance Assistant to join their team. This newly created role reflects the ongoing growth of the business and the strengthening of their finance function to support further growth.

Based in West London, they offer a hybrid model of four days in the office and one from home, ensuring you're closely connected with the team and immersed in their collaborative, music-loving culture.

The Role
\n
Working closely with a supportive Head of Finance, you'll gain hands-on experience in the financial operations behind multiple artist labels. In your first few months, you'll get to know the business, get to grips with artist teams and their business managers, and learn how each label's accounts are structured. You'll support day-to-day finance tasks such as preparing reports, tracking royalty income, and keeping accounts organised and up to date. You'll also help check financial records for accuracy, flag any missing income, and assist with coordinating information between internal teams and external partners. This is a great opportunity to build confidence working with accounts while developing a strong understanding of the music industry's financial side.

As you grow into the role, you'll take more ownership of artist royalty processes, build relationships with artists and their business managers, and support profit reporting. In time, you'll become the go-to finance person for specific artists, working closely with their wider teams to make sure everything runs smoothly and financial reports are accurate and on time.

Responsibilities
\n
\n Support the Finance Manager with day-to-day financial administration for multiple artist labels managed by the business \n
Assist in preparing and updating client financial reports under guidance \n
Help coordinate the flow of financial information between the business, external business managers, and artist teams \n
Maintain accurate records for royalty tracking and reporting, ensuring all data is kept organised and up to date \n
Carry out checks on label accounts to make sure information provided by external business managers is complete and correct \n
Flag any missing invoices or unusual activity to the Finance Manager/Head of Finance for follow-up \n
Keep oversight of income streams, ensuring they are allocated correctly to the right projects and departments \n
Learn and maintain understanding of artist account setups and the processes involved in managing their finances \n
Ad hoc tasks to support the wider business and Head of Finance \n

What We Need to See (Essential)
\n
\n 2+ years' experience working within an accounting and finance role (with exposure to bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and management accounts processes) \n
Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and ambition \n
A passion for music! \n
\n
What We'd Like to See (Bonus/Non-Essential)

\n Previous experience in a music/media business \n
Knowledge of Xero \n
An understanding of royalties \n

Package: £35,000-£40,000 + study support, benefits Working Pattern: 4 days in-office, 1 day work from home Ideal Start: ASAP-1 month notice
