We’re looking for a Head of Retail Development to join Co-op Wholesale.Since 1977, we’ve championed independent retailers to thrive with Nisa – and now, we’re entering a bold new chapter as Co-op Wholesale. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design and delivery of the Co-op Wholesale retail development change programme. You’ll work to drive improved capability and effective ways of working across Co-op Wholesale. We’ll look to you to make sure there is increased adherence to brand, improved loyalty, and an improvement to profitability.
What you’ll do
- Be responsible for the design and delivery of the retail development change programme, deploying it through existing teams to positively impact retailer loyalty
- Design and deliver processes and ways of working that ensure proposition adherence, brand standard application, and sustainable sales values that drive profit per customer
- Lead the implementation of profit recovery work with retailers, ensuring full collaboration with legal and finance teams to mitigate risks
- Design and deliver the ‘Value Add Programme’ for Co-op Wholesale to provide retailer value to key convenience partnerships
- Address retailer challenges, managing necessary shrinking to grow, collaborating across the leadership community and with Customer Experience teams
- Act as a change leader, working closely with business-as-usual functional owners
This role would suit people who have
- Experience working in a wholesale environment
- Experience in independent retailer trade activation and transformational change with propositions and the field
- The ability to operate up to board level, with the confidence to influence and challenge senior partners
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, whilst always being customer focused
