JOB TITLE: Head of Retail, Insurance Control & Reporting
LOCATION(S): Bristol
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
This exciting role offers the opportunity to lead, build and motivate a team of approximately 60 finance professionals in the Retail & Insurance Financial Control and Reporting Team, partnering with Retail and Insurance Finance to deliver a robust control environment which gives confidence in reporting to your stakeholders. You will join Group Finance Support (part of GFS), a key function within the Finance community of LBG. We are a team of approximately 300 colleagues, with responsibilities including financial reporting and control, people and culture initiatives and strategy implementation. The team is undergoing a significant Transformation journey; you will be part of influencing, designing and implementing Finance Transformation over the next few years, both within Group Finance Support and beyond.
Day to day responsibilities
- Drive and positively influence key internal and external partners including Divisional Finance Directors, Risk Partners and our external auditors
- Provide challenge, insight and decision support to the Retail and Insurance Finance teams to improve business controls and performance
- Ensure robust risk management processes, including SOX and Risk OpenPages, are embedded within the team, delivering a high quality Financial Control environment
- Own and drive resolution of issues at pace, collaborating across teams to get the best solution for LBG
- Lead the team to support Transformation, including design and delivery in key areas of activity
- Build, lead and develop a professional, resilient and driven Finance team
- Drive continuous improvement, particularly through data improvement and the use of automation and AI tools
- As a key member of the Leadership team, drive cultural change to position the team for now and the future
What you’ll need
- Experienced leader with drive, energy and a growth mindset, who leads by example and has experience of leading a large team
- Qualified finance professional with significant post-qualification experience in control, management and statutory reporting
- Strong Risk and Control understanding, including LBG Risk OpenPages and SOX framework, with awareness of key risks facing LBG Finance
- Excellent communicator, able to influence and articulate complex issues at all levels across LBG, building strong diverse working relationships
- Strategic thinker with a passion for future transformation and continuous improvement within Finance
- A track record of attracting, inspiring and leading a diverse, high-performing team, managing performance to realise potential and retain talent
- Strong RSCA and SOX framework awareness; knowledge of key risks facing LBG Finance
