Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.About The RoleOur Energy Networks team within our Energy unit is looking for a Principal Project Manager to lead our energy infrastructure design and energy advisory projects in a growing portfolio, supporting our clients in the transition to decarbonisation in the UK and across Europe as part of the energy transition.As well as contributing to these new and existing projects, this position will play an active role in improving our project management processes and approach, driving both delivery excellence and efficiency in our business.This role will provide an excellent opportunity to further develop your career in a highly supportive and collaborative environment across the Energy sector and provide exposure to some exciting energy transition projects that will protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions. There will be a specific emphasis on supporting and growing our project management capabilities, and on developing initiatives to improve our service delivery.Your Key Responsibilities Will IncludeDeliver Project Management for complex transmission & distributions projects including feasibility, FEED and detailed design.Delivering project scope to time quality and costBuilding and managing strong relationships with senior client representatives as well as internal stakeholdersEstablishing effective communications across our multidisciplinary the whole project delivery teamsTaking the lead on problem solving and decision makingControlling internal and external commercial aspects of the project under the contract arrangementsManaging risk to the business and to the clientWork effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver to tight deadlines.Candidate specificationRelevant engineering or project management degree or relevant successful experience in project management of energy sector projectsProven success in the delivery of Transmission or Distribution design projects working for a designer, a contractor, or major industry client within the energy sectorProject Management experienceExperience of managing multidisciplinary teamsExcellent communication skillsExperience in contract administration, ideally NEC contract formsKnowledge and experience in approaches to change management, risk management, schedule and cost management, along with all other aspects of project managementAbility to make complex decisions, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to, accepting responsibility for own actions;Creating a work environment which promotes health, safety, and wellbeing.Previous experience in electrical infrastructure projects e.g. Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Engineer, or other roleExperience of CDM 2015 RegsAppreciation of commercial sphere of project work including contract termsAbility to adapt and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Collaborative skills: the job of Project Manager requires that they work with cross-functional teams, so it is vital that they can work with people from various backgroundsPreferred But Not EssentialExperience within the Transmission and Distribution sectorExperience across all stages of the project lifecycleRelevant PM qualifications (eg PMQ, Prince 2)We are actively recruiting a diverse workforce that is reflective of the communities we serve.
