Our client has been in business since 1976, when two farming families in Fife started growing vegetables in partnership. They grow approximately 2800 hectares of vegetables and salad crops across Scotland.

About the Role:

As a Production Team manager, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the factory, managing a team of between 15 and 25 Production Operatives.

This role is a mix of day shift and back shift, with every second weekend also forming part of the rota. There are NO part-time opportunities. This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that each member of the team is trained to a competent standard across all jobs in the relevant production area
  • Prioritise and execute the shift running plans to ensure that all targets are met
  • Challenge, investigate and correct non-conformances, e.g. quality, stock rotation, waste management
  • Ensure that each member of the team clearly understands what their role is and is provided with all the necessary training to succeed
  • Ensure that each member of the team clearly understands the product quality standards for the area
  • Ensure that each member of the team understands what is expected of them in relation to timekeeping, housekeeping standards, health & safety, PPE adherence and acceptable behaviour
  • Lead, motivate and engage with each member of the team daily
  • Communicate with team members daily regarding targets, issues and any relevant business news or updates
  • Manage and assess the work area in order to ensure that Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental responsibilities are met
  • Ensure that area establishment numbers are maintained and work with HR to recruit new team members
  • Promote a Continuous Improvement Culture within your work area. Ensure you involve your team in the projects/change programme, supporting the site's Food Safety Culture and improvement objectives

Performance Measures:

  • Ensure that each team member has two documented performance review discussions every 12 months
  • Ensure that team members' individual Bradford rating does not exceed 200
  • Ensure that all team members' compliance training is completed and refreshed in relation to our food safety critical training requirements
  • Ensure that the area staff turnover does not exceed 15% every quarter
