What You Will Be Doing: * Continuously observe area to detect and prevent theft, vandalism, and other suspicious activities. * Conduct regular foot patrols within and around the retail store to ensure the safety of customers and employees and to deter criminal activity. * Ensure only authorised personnel have access to restricted areas by verifying identification badges and credentials. * Act promptly to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and security breaches, and follow established procedures to handle these incidents. * Identify and apprehend shoplifters using legal and ethical methods, and report incidents to law enforcement as necessary. * Provide assistance to customers and staff by offering directions, answering questions, and addressing concerns to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. * Document and report all security-related incidents accurately and promptly, including thefts, accidents, and suspicious activities. * Manage the entry and exit points of the store, ensuring that only authorized individuals are granted access, and monitor the flow of people to prevent overcrowding and ensure safety. What We Need From You: * Valid SIA SG / DS / CCTV Licence. * Checkable work History. * Knowledge of public safety and security. * Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. * Ability to work well with others. * To be thorough and pay attention to detail. * Thinking and reasoning skills for dealing with emergencies. * Concentration skills to stay alert and aware of your surroundings. * Customer service skills for challenging people politely but firmly. * Excellent verbal communication skills for negotiating with people. * To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device.
