Retail Digital Applications Technical Lead – Initially 4 months
Location: Fareham (Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite), Rate: £350–£380 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract role for a 3rd line level technical support professional support the delivery, maintenance and optimisation of retail-facing digital technologies across a large retail estate in the UK and EMEA.
You’ll be the go-to technical expert on mobile device management (MDM), in-store digital signage, audio systems, appointment booking tools, and other customer-facing platforms—ensuring a secure, consistent, and high-performing digital retail experience.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role involving technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work closely with infrastructure teams, third-party vendors, and internal business users to keep systems running smoothly and to deliver smart, scalable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a fleet of 2,500+ mobile devices across retail locations using MDM (e.g. Intune, JAMF)Handle app signing and certificate management for internal iOS deployments
- Maintain configuration policies and ensure device compliance
- Support core retail infrastructure including Wi-Fi (Meraki), audio systems and digital signage
- Act as the escalation point for complex incidents across mobile, app, and network platforms
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to shape and deliver technology solutions
- Own documentation, compliance tracking and operational reporting
- Contribute to project delivery and proof-of-concept trials for new in-store tech
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience with MDM platforms such as Intune, JAMF, or AirWatch
- Solid understanding of iOS device management and enterprise app deployment
- Experience working across both Mac OS X and Windows 10/11 environments
- Knowledge of basic networking principles and secure Wi-Fi setups
- Confident communicator with the ability to work across business and tech teams
- Experience working within an ITIL-aligned or service-led environment
