SEN 1-1 Teaching Assistant
Location – West End, Southampton
Contract - Part Time
Start date – January 2026
Join our team of caring and dedicated professionals providing one-to-one support for pupils with Special Educational Needs in welcoming and inclusive primary schools throughout West End.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible attitude.
- A genuine passion for inclusion and pupil development.
- Previous school-based experience or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential).
About the role:
- Provide 1:1 classroom and pastoral support for a pupil with specific learning or emotional needs.
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual targets.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and review support plans.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
