GSL Education are working with a well-established SEN school in Hook that is looking to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for long-term roles starting asap. These positions are temp-to-perm, offering the opportunity to secure a permanent role within a supportive and specialist setting.

The school caters to a range of complex needs across provision, so experience in SEN environments is essential. Candidates should be confident in supporting students with a variety of learning and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Assist teachers in delivering personalised support for students with a range of special educational needs.
• Provide one-on-one support for students during lessons, activities, and daily routines.
• Create and maintain a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere.
• Help students build confidence, social skills, and develop their emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality education.
  Assist in preparing and organising classroom materials and resources.

Qualifications & Skills required for SEN Teaching Assistant role:

• No formal qualifications required—we welcome applicants with a passion for education and working with children.
• Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies
• Experience in a similar role or working with children is a plus, but not mandatory. Compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
• Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
