SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Wirral

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Long-term Temporary

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Pay: Paid to scale

About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in the Wirral area. If you are looking for a new and rewarding challenge and are motivated by seeing others progress and develop, this role could be perfect for you. The ideal candidate will have confidence in both Mathematics and English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with additional needs, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support classroom teachers with daily activities and help maintain a stimulating classroom atmosphere.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback and assistance as needed.
  • Encourage student independence and self-confidence.

    • Requirements:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent (desirable).
  • Previous experience working with young people.
  • Confidence in Mathematics and English.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Ability to provide two professional references
