Supporting Young Adults with SEND (Ages 16–25)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming college in Poole that supports students aged 16–25 with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.

The college is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team, providing both general classroom support and one-to-one assistance where needed.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, caring, and eager to help young people reach their full potential — both academically and personally.

The college places great importance on hands-on and outdoor learning, so the ideal candidate will enjoy getting involved in a range of outdoor activities alongside the students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a variety of needs.

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

• Promote independence, confidence, and positive relationships among students.

• Support students during outdoor and practical learning sessions.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people with SEND.

• Have a proactive and flexible attitude.

• Be comfortable working outdoors and taking part in physical or activity-based learning.

• Have experience in a similar setting (desired but not essential).
