SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant ready to make a real difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? A warm and inclusive primary school in Finchley is seeking a dedicated professional to join their supportive team on a part-time, temporary basis (3 days per week).

The Role

You’ll be working closely with class teachers to support pupils with special educational needs, primarily those with ASD and additional behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help children overcome barriers to learning, promote independence, and create a safe, engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD

• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies

• Encourage positive social and emotional development

• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists

• Use creative approaches to engage and motivate learners

About You

• Previous experience supporting children with ASD or behavioural needs is essential

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

• Calm, patient, and adaptable approach

• A genuine passion for helping every child reach their full potential
