The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Work within Nursery or Reception settings, supporting pre-verbal children with communication and social interaction.
• Use visual timetables, core boards, and AAC methods to enhance engagement and understanding.
• Support and deliver structured interventions, including Bucket Time and Speech & Language activities, under therapist guidance or independently.
• Create a calm, engaging learning environment that promotes confidence and communication.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to track progress and adapt support strategies.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and communication needs.
• Understanding of the EYFS framework and early communication strategies.
• A patient, proactive, and nurturing approach to learning through play and visuals.
• Confidence using or learning AAC and visual support tools.
