SEN Teaching Assistant – Hemel Hempstead

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? An exceptional specialist provision in Hemel Hempstead is expanding and looking for two dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team.
This school provides a nurturing environment for children who have experienced early childhood trauma. Currently supporting 12 pupils, the provision is growing to 17 students, and the team is seeking additional staff who can help provide the stability, structure, and care that make such a difference to their learners’ lives.
The Role:

Supporting students aged between 5–11 with SEMH and associated needs
*
Working in small groups to help pupils engage and progress
*
Assisting the class teacher in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
*
Using trauma-informed approaches and positive behaviour support strategies

Who We’re Looking For:

Experienced SEN TAs with a background in SEMH, cognition and learning, or communication needs

Psychology graduates or those looking to gain experience before pursuing careers in education, therapy, or social work
*
Candidates with strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping young people thrive
