About the role

SEND Teaching Assistant – Rowde (Devizes) – Full-Time

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We’re looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive specialist school in the Rowde area, working full-time to make a genuine difference every day.

This is a rewarding and hands-on role supporting pupils aged 4–19 with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Complex Learning Difficulties, and PMLD. You’ll help students engage with learning, build confidence, and develop key life skills in a nurturing environment.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom.

  • Help deliver engaging lessons and activities under the guidance of the teaching team.

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

  • Assist with personal care and mobility support when required.

  • Build trusting relationships that encourage independence and progress.

  • Extra training and ongoing professional development can be provided if needed.

  • Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting young people.

  • Be comfortable working with children with additional or complex needs.

  • Be willing to assist with personal care and moving & handling.

  • Be a strong communicator and positive team player.

  • Hold a DBS on the Update Service (preferred) or be willing to obtain one.

  • Experience in education or care is desirable but not essential — a genuine passion and commitment to helping children thrive are what matter most.

    Salary

    £13.68 to £13.68 per hour

    Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Have a desire to work within education.
  • Have/ be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
