SEND Early Years Support Assistant | Heaton| Nurture Young Minds in a Community-Focused Primary School Setting

A warm, community-focused primary school in Heaton is looking for a dedicated Early Years SEND Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a nursery-aged pupil with Special Educational Needs. You’ll play a vital role in helping them build confidence, develop communication, and take those important first steps towards independence.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing patient, nurturing 1:1 support to a nursery-aged pupil with SEND.
Assisting with structured play, sensory activities, and early communication development.
Encouraging independence in daily routines, from snack time to tidy-up time.
Supporting emotional regulation through calm, consistent interaction.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities to the child’s needs.
About you:
Experience supporting children with SEND is an advantage, but a caring, proactive attitude is essential.
Patient, compassionate, and confident in building rapport with young children.
Willing to get involved in all aspects of nursery life.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
