SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)
Location: Ferring
Salary: £85 – £95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil in Ferring. This rewarding role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by assisting a child with both academic and personal development in a caring and inclusive environment.

SEND Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with medical and physical needs throughout the school day.
• Assist with mobility, personal care, and the safe use of specialist equipment as required.
• Support classroom learning by adapting tasks and materials to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
• Foster independence, confidence, and social interaction in a supportive and respectful manner.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to implement care and learning plans.
• Monitor progress and share updates with the SENCO and wider support team.

Requirements for SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA):

• Previous experience supporting children with physical disabilities or medical conditions is highly desirable.
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to care and learning.
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing.
• A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
