The Role
Playle & Partners LLP, with over 65 years of experience in the construction industry, has built a solid reputation as an exceptional consultancy across the South-East.
Primarily working in the public sector, our projects include education, residential, public, and community buildings. We have strong links with Local Authorities, County Councils, and Housing Associations, delivering successful projects in these areas.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate Building Surveyor to join our Building Surveying Team at our Sidcup Office. The successful candidate will manage the growth and delivery of the team, overseeing daily activities and reporting to the Partners on team performance, new opportunities, and submissions.
This role offers the chance to work with new clients on interesting projects during an exciting expansion phase. The candidate should align with our ethos of delivering sustainable construction projects, including new builds and retrofits, aiming for Net Zero Carbon in construction and meeting commitments like the RIBA 2030 challenge.
The candidate should possess good knowledge of scheduling, specification writing, tender documentation, contracts, and be capable of undertaking contract administration and Employer’s Agent duties across various projects and sectors.
Experience in building condition surveys, measured surveys, defect analysis, formal reporting, and submitting building regulations and planning applications is essential. The role also involves assisting with appointing external consultants, setting budgets, and reviewing staff performance. Skills in aids and adaptations, party wall matters, DDA audits, AutoCAD proficiency, and knowledge of CDM regulations are advantageous.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be MRICS qualified with 10-15 years of industry experience, demonstrating excellent communication, management, and teamwork skills. They should be proactive, able to independently manage projects, hold a full clean driving license, and have their own road-legal vehicle.
