Senior Data Management Consultant – Retail Products

Nationwide is establishing a data-driven culture across the Society that will support our business modernisation and transformation goals. We are looking for an enthusiastic data professional who is passionate about how improved data quality can help us meet our strategic goals and can embed good data management practices across Retail Products. As a Senior Data Management Consultant, you’ll support the Data Steward for Retail Products to champion the Society’s data culture, strengthen our data governance maturity and ensure the data we use conforms to the Society’s data governance framework.

Retail Products look after the banking and savings of 16 million members and business customers by offering competitive propositions that meet core needs, reward loyalty, broaden & deepen relationships and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Society. We’re looking to add to our talented and experienced team that support the data and insight needs that underpin much of the decision-making across our product ranges.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London, Bournemouth or Northampton office. What you’ll be doing

You’ll support in continually assessing our adherence to the Society’s Data Governance Framework, making recommendations for improvements in our data controls and implementing these in a sustainable way and in line with the ways of working and tooling approach defined centrally.

We’ll need you to use your experience with data management controls, such as data lineage mapping, metadata management and data quality outputs (such as dashboards and scorecards) to ensure the data we use across Retail Products and reports is well understood and optimised for its purpose.

You’ll use your engagement and collaboration skills to work alongside subject matter experts in Retail Products to identify critical data and document this in a central metadata repository, ensuring the Society’s most important data is well managed, controlled and clearly understood.
