Strategic Account Director – Retail & eCommerce

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyneside, Gateshead
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 basic (OTE £120,000+ uncapped)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We’re a fast-growing, award-winning eCommerce software business. Our platform helps retailers increase online performance, and we’re now seeking a Strategic Account Director to focus on high-value client relationships and enterprise account growth.

The Role

This role is ideal for someone coming from a client services / account management background who’s managed large retail accounts and is now ready to step into a more commercial, growth-driven role.

You’ll be responsible for winning new enterprise accounts while strengthening relationships with senior decision-makers across retail and eCommerce. 

You’ll lead solution-driven conversations, run demonstrations, and ensure clients get maximum value from our services.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and grow relationships with enterprise-level retailers.
• Identify and secure new opportunities with key retail decision-makers.
• Present solutions that solve client challenges, particularly around eCommerce and Google Shopping.
• Deliver engaging demonstrations (online and in person).
• Influence strategy and feed market insights back into the business.
• Provide accurate reporting and revenue forecasts.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as an Account Director or senior client services lead.
• Strong background with retail or eCommerce clients.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to close deals.
• Existing network of retail decision-makers (advantage).
• Clear communicator, great at building trust and relationships.
