This role will report to the Regional Finance Director, Travel Retail EMA, and is based in our London office. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the office 3 days per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Estée Lauder Travel Retail EMA to appoint a Strategic Finance Business Manager. This role will report to the Regional Finance Director, Travel Retail EMA, and is based in our London office. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the office 3 days per week.
The purpose of this job is to drive brand performance and strategic objectives as the Financial Business Partner to the brand cluster. This role is responsible for P&L Management, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic analysis, long-range planning, and profitability management. In addition, the Strategic Business Partner will provide financial advice and expertise to the brands; a value-added business partner to help the brand cluster achieve business and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include
Data Analytics
- Develop, monitor, and report Brand metrics and KPI’s providing analysis and insights, as applicable.
- Leverage systems and tools (SAP, BI and CPM) available for the preparation of ad-hoc analysis.
- Prepare door and retailer profitability analytics by Channel and distribution “Duty Paid and Duty Free”.
- Support the procurement process and provide coding black guidance.
- Prepare and review monthly sales P&L estimates and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Develop the Demo cost plan for new and existing doors.
- Analyse retail vs. net and WOS monthly.
- Manage monthly estimates, the annual budget/plan process submission and loading into CPM.
- Work with Brands to produce, evaluate and make recommendation on profit and loss for special events, new doors etc.
- Develop the long-range plan (LRP) including building blocks and annual budgets with brand Director.
- Prepare detail revenue, COG and OPEX budget at customer level and load into the TR CPM Cube.
- Actively participate in periodic monthly estimate conference calls with the TR NY team.
- Provide finance induction to new field member, including knowledge of the new database systems
- Month end process:
- Review Selling, Marketing, Advertising and Promotional expenditures and prepare necessary accrual (journal entries) at month end.
- Prepare Pro-Forma P&L’s during month end closing to compare with Plan and latest estimate (LE).
- Liaison with the Regional Finance Director to ensure correct processing of all month-end transactions.
- Provide financial support for Brand Mitigation programs and Special Pricing Offers (SPO)
- Provide financial support to CAM’s and ASOM’s on the estimate process
- Evaluate processes and provide recommendation to improve efficiencies and simplify complexities
- Adherence and enforcement of US GAAP, corporate policies, and SOX compliance.
- Manage OPEX investment and independently identify issues and resolutions.
- Develop key investment plan with Regional Brand Director for promotional activations. Emphasis on ROI, Market Share Gain and Gross Margin improvement.
- Directly support brand sub-functions on developing, allocating and managing financial resources such as education seminars, digital, marketing promotional calendar, visual merchandising, etc.
- Serve as the financial advisor supporting the brand Director on their key account corporate assignment.
- Approve Returns and Destructions (RAF and DIF).
- Conduct ad-hoc Profit & Loss and Sales analysis as requested by Brands/Finance. For example, the Beauty Advisor productivity report, penetration report, bubble charts etc.
Key competencies include:
- Extensive business partner experience with the ability to clearly communicate and influence multiple level stakeholders and enable financial insights to be actioned.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills including relationship building, conflict resolution and influencing together with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. High level of self-awareness
- Strategic thinker and commercially astute with ability to apply analytical skills beyond the traditional functions of finance and to bring them to bear on a broad range of commercial issues and influence decisions beyond the numbers.
- Aware of macro trends (in industry, business, economy, society, policy and regulations) and all aspects of the company’s business. Ability to understand challenges and identify solutions
- SAP/CPM and BI experience is a plus.
