St John’s Mead Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, exceptional and committed individual who can provide 1:1 support for a Lower Key Stage 2 pupil with social and emotional needs. We would like to appoint a team player who will support the aims and core values of our Federation and school.

• is trained to at least level 2 of a Teaching Assistant qualification and willing to develop their own professional development

• Experienced in following the children’s interests and adapting activities to meet the needs of the children.
• Experience of supporting children’s learning to meet individual needs

The role of a SEND TA is to work under the supervision of the class teacher and SENDCo, undertaking a range of directed activities to support the educational and developmental needs of pupils, assisting teachers in the organisation and maintenance of classroom resources and to contribute to the supervision and welfare of pupils throughout the school. 

Working pattern - Monday-Friday 30 hours per week (8:50am - 3:20pm with 30 min lunchbreak)

This is a fixed term post subject to SEND funding.

All staff and volunteer appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
