Are you a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's life? Hays Education is working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Lambeth to recruit a dedicated Year 2 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour.

Your Role:

You will be working 1:1 with a child in Year 2 who presents with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, including challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties with attention and focus.

Your role will involve:

Building a trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil to support emotional stability Implementing behaviour management strategies in line with the school's SEN and safeguarding policies Supporting the pupil's access to learning through tailored interventions and classroom adaptations Liaising closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt support Encouraging positive social interactions and helping the pupil develop coping strategies Providing a calm and structured presence throughout the school day

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is patient, empathetic, and confident in managing behaviour in a nurturing way. What You'll Need:

Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly behavioural needs (e.g., ADHD, SEMH) A calm, patient and nurturing approach Strong communication and behaviour management skills Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
